IS HIGH SEAS VOYAGE SAFE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN?

Most of the couples prefer traveling in the last minute before the delivery of the baby. They do so as they think a fun fledged vacation is necessary, as after the baby arrives in their lives they might have to take up the responsibility followed by many sleepless nights.
There’s nothing wrong in traveling when you are pregnant as long as you make sure that neither of you or your baby will have any health issues.

It is very important that when you are traveling during your pregnancy you should avail an insurance policy for yourself. And when it comes to ferries some ferries do not allow a pregnant lady to travel while there are also few others who do not have problem as long as she is not beyond her 34th week.
However, miscarriages are less likely to happen between the 14th and 28th week and so travel in these days has got no danger that is only if your pregnancy has got no complications. Always consult your doctor (Gynaecologist) before you plan out anything like traveling as she is the one who knows what’s best for you and your baby.

After getting a green signal from your doctor which states that there’s absolutely not going to be any kind of problem while you travel. The next thing which you got to do is research about the hospital facilities of the place you are going to go. This will help you if you need any kind of medical attention at any point of time. And do not forget to carry your prenatal records as they are very important.

Then you got to contact the ferry service providers and ask them if they would provide you to travel. Usually if any pregnant women did not reach her 28th week then the ferry service providers readily avails them with the ticket. Although, there might be terms and conditions related to the distance of the travel. And a medical certificate (stating that you can travel and there are no health issues) from your Gynaecologist is a must if your pregnancy period ranges between the 28th week and 34th week.

Do not purchase the ticket unless you specify your pregnancy weeks and they specify whether according to their terms you are eligible to travel. Else you might end up wasting your money.
In pregnancy it’s common to get morning sickness.

It is always advisable to use motion sickness bands as they use acupressure points to relax stomach when upset and nausea. These bands are most often considered to be the best alternative to the prescriptions. However, before using it consult your doctor whether it is safe for you.

Always enquire whether the ferry is having the on board health care facility for pregnant women so as to face the short comings of any kind of complications which might occur any time.
