Malaysia is situated at the southeastern region of Asia and the population of this country mainly comprises of multicultural community. Malaysia is considered as one of the most frequented tourist destinations in Asia. The reason behind the immense popularity of this place is mainly due to its picturesque landscapes and fascinating islands. The tourists from different parts of the world visit this southeastern country so much that it has been regarded as the 11th most visited country in the world. Petronas Towers

The Petronas twin towers are considered as the second tallest building in the world, as it includes up to 88 floors. The twin towers are situated in Kuala Lampur, the capital city of the country. The towers allow you a trip up to the 42nd floor where a bridge connects both the towers. It has structured with a steel and glass façade and its outer lining resembles the motifs found in Islamic art, as to reflect the Muslim religion of the country. The towers includes various types of attractions for the visitors like the Petronas Philharmonic where jazz and classic musical events are performed, Petrosains Science Centre, Petronas Art Gallery and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, where there is the Aquaria Oceanarium, which includes various types of aquatic species and corals.

Langkawi Island

The renowned Langkawi Island is situated in the northern most tip of the western side of Peninsular Malaysia. It is located at distance of about 30 km from the mainland of Malaysia and is surrounded by 100 small islands, among which only four of them are inhabited. It is one of the finest holiday destinations in Malaysia, as it is dotted with some of the renowned beaches in the region along with some luxurious resorts, restaurants and eateries that offer quality accommodation and delicious variety of food respectively.

Perhentian Islands

Another island in Malaysia which comes under the list of top attractions of the place is Perhentian Island. The island is located on the northeastern part of the Peninsular Malaysia. In fact, a group of two islands, namely Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil, form the Perhentian Islands. Perhentian Besar is the larger of the tow islands and is most popular among the newlyweds and family vacationers. Perhentian Kecil, which is the smaller one, is most popular among the budget travelers. Both of these islands are dotted with several accommodation facilities, ranging from luxurious resorts to budget lodges. The major highlights of these islands are scuba diving and snorkeling.

Mount Kinabalu

Towering to a height of about 4,092 m above sea level, Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain to be found in Malaysia. The mount is placed in the Kinabalu National Park and is part of the Crocker Range. It is mostly popular among the tourist for providing the scenic view of sun rise from the summit of the mount. In order to get to this place, one should first reach to the city of Kota Kinabalu, which is the closest major destination to the mountain. A trek to the peak of this mountain is quite enjoyable. Also note that the local government authorities of this place only allows 150 trekkers on the mountain on a day, which means while 75 trekkers are climbing up the other 75 trekkers will be descending down. It is also advisable to make necessary arrangements for the trek to this mountain beforehand, as the passes often run out during the peak tourist season.

Shopping in Kuala Lumpur

As Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia, it offers plenty of shopping facilities. The city has plenty of shopping malls which serve as a pass time during the weekends. Not only do the locals of this region but the tourists also love to take the luxury of delicious foods and shopping at this place. The city holds around 50 shopping malls, both small and megamalls and they include some of the renowned restaurants, bars and other eateries. Best time to visit these malls is from 10 am to 10 pm. These malls are also the best place to buy electronics, computer equipments, jewelries and other fashionable items.
